Supercross-Finals In Vegas....
So as you know, I'm here in Las Vegas visiting my cousin and for Supercross Finals. So today was the day....Jen's(my cousin) boyfriend was in a poker tournament for the charity for the riders, he won a bag that had 2 VIP Pit Passes. So today he had to go to Reno and Sacramento for another tournament but we went to Supercross. We didn't get there in time to see all the riders, but we got all kinds of merchandise. shirts, hats, jerseys...you name it we probably have it...within reason. :) anyway, when we went to our seats (where ever the VIP Pass let us in.) we found out that it was right in the middle of the track! Right in the middle..it was crazy. It was also right next to the podium platform. So when the riders won their race, they would come to that thing and I would stand there and take pictures...work out perfectly. I have some many pictures with some many of the riders! Its crazy! I didn't get Justin Barcia like I had wanted to but that was fine...the seats made up for it. But I did get a pictures with this hott British guy, who is single, my age, and totally sweet! But yet again he has no idea who in the world I am, but whatever! :D Its my favorite picture!!
People I saw-(at the podium)
Ryan Dungey
Chad Reed
Kevin Windham
Davi Millsaps
Justin Brayton
Nick Wey
Josh Hansen
Thomas Hahn
I dont know, alot more, but I cant think of their names...sad. I wasnt in time for the signing and pictures with Justin Barcia, who I really wanted but its ok, Max Anstie made up for it. :D
I got a picture with-
Max Anstie
Kevin Windham
Kenny "The Cowboy" Bartrum
There was lot of pictures of Dungey, Windham, Reed, Hasen, Purceal(?) lots of riders. It was pretty fun! loved every minute!! :)
Danny "Magoo" Chandler
Danny “Magoo” Chandler died May 4th as a result of illnesses related to paralysis. The Hall of Fame rider was 50 years old.
The Sacramento, California native was known for his wild style and wide-open charge. Magoo was a fan favorite from the time he turned professional in 1976. His first real success came with a top-10 finish in the 1981 125cc Motocross Nationals.
He signed with factory Honda in 1982 and began the biggest year of his career. Perhaps the most memorable victory was claiming the U.S. 500cc Motocross Grand Prix. Besting the Europeans at Carlsbad Raceway that day notched his name in the history books. He furthered his international fame by winning every 250cc moto at the ’82 Trophies des Nations in Germany, and every 500cc moto at the Motocross des Nations in Switzerland – the only rider ever to achieve the feat. He also won the ABC Wide World of Sports Superbikers race, which was essentially the first event of what we now call Supermoto.
Magoo went on to finish third in the AMA 500cc series in ’83 but suffered through ’84 with injuries. He switched to the World Motocross Championship in 1985, ultimately settling with an Italian Kawasaki team, but a crash at the Paris Supercross in December of 1985 left him paralyzed.
~~~~
Following the accident, Chandler embarked on a mission to help spread motorcycle safety, particularly to young riders. Other endeavors included race promotion for mountain bikes and cooperation with the DARE drug awareness program.
The industry has been hard at work to provide Danny with a specially equipped vehicle to make it easier for him to travel and conduct his seminars. The Danny Magoo Chandler Van Fund was completed and the project finalized on May 4, the same day as his death.
Magoo was an amazing person and an inspirational roll model for young riders. Hes shown us how to win and how to lose. He's my hero....forever. Hes that type of person that once he's in your life, he's in your heart forever. He'll never be forgotten.
song
He is sensible and so incredible
And all my single friends are jealous.
He says everything I need to hear
And it’s like I couldn’t ask for anything better.
He opens up my door and
I get into his car and he says
you look beautiful tonight.
And I feel perfectly fine.
[Chorus:]
But I miss screamin’ and fightin’ and kissin’ in the rain
and its 2am and I’m cursin’ your name.
You’re so in love that you act insane
and that’s the way I loved you.
Breakin’ down and comin’ undone
it’s a roller coaster kinda rush.
And I never knew I could feel that much.
And that’s the way I loved you.
He respects my space
And never makes me wait
And he calls exactly when he says he will.
He’s close to my mother
Talks business with my father.
He’s charming and endearing
And I’m comfortable.
But I miss screamin’ and fightin’ and kissin’ in the rain
And it’s 2am and I’m cursin’ your name.
You’re so in love that you act insane
And that’s the way I loved you.
Breakin’ down and comin’ undone
It’s a roller coaster kinda rush.
And I never knew I could feel that much.
And that’s the way I loved you.
He can’t see the smile I’m fakin’.
And my hearts not breakin’
Cause I’m not feelin’ anything at all.
And you were wild and crazy.
Just so frustrating, intoxicating, complicated,
got away like some mistake.
And now I,
I miss screamin’, and fightin’, and kissin’ in the rain
it’s 2am and I’m cursin’ your name.
I’m so in love that I acted insane.
And that’s the way I loved you.
Breakin’ down and comin’ undone
it’s a roller coaster kinda rush.
And I never knew I could feel that much.
OK, so this ones just a venting post, no point. So Ive known my friend since like 4th grade and ever since then we've grown closer. OK, so my friend knows that I take pictures and I mean he offered to buy me a new one! So when my friend saw my pictures my friend thought that they were really cool and couldn't wait for me to take more of my friend. oh but no, my friend had to go and ask some other person who is totally weird and psycho. I mean this person really is. I'm not the jealous type or anything but when it comes to my friend, my friend means everything to me and I would totally die for my friend. I just wish my friend didn't think of me in a certain way....I love my friend with my whole heart and everything! I just don't understand why my friend didn't call me, and ask my...we've gone through so much together and had some crazy adventures and I hate the fact that this person is wrecking it all! uuuhhhh!!! I really really dislike this person...cause hate is such a strong word..this time a mean it, I hate this person! I just can't believe why my friend would do that, I remind my friend that I'm here for them and everything all the time and we talk and I do stuff for and with my friend...I just don't understand any of it. so really man, really? that's all I have to say, I hate the fact that this whole thins is about how my friend talks to this person and how I said I'm not a jealous person but here I am totally being jealous!!!!! lol but ya, I just wish that me and my friend could go back to the way it use to be..just me and my friend hanging out..no other person, just 2 of us. haha ya that would be nice, but never going to happen..whatever happens, happens and I just need to make the best of it...yeup. ah much better. :)
Anaheim 3
Alright, so AMA Supercross was at Anaheim this weekend for the 3rd and last time. This weekend was the first-ever Breast Cancer Awareness Race. Before the race began, there was a story that needed to be told..a story of a rider who didn't let cancer stop him from doing what he loved.. Grant Langston found out that he had cancer..he shared his story on how he survived the cancer and didn't let it get the best of him and his family. They thought that they might have to give up on the sport, but they didn't and Grant Langston was out there, and racing on Saturday...
Chad Reed, Josh Grant, and James Stewart, still out of the race, points were getting closer and closer together! Andrew Short had a bad wreck last weekend and wasn't able to race...
20 riders...20 laps...1 title, who will take it all....
Heat one came around and Ryan Dungey took that one away from everyone and in heat two, Josh Hill took it. When the Main Event finally came it was up for grabs...When the gate was dropped we were on our way for the Main Event....
First lap, and it was Ryan Villopoto out in front fallowed closely by Josh Hill. Behind them it was Davi Millsaps, Kevin Windham, and Ryan Dungey taking up the end of the top five on the first lap. It didn't take long for Villopoto to take off and leave everyone in his dust, but he couldn't shake Hill., he was right behind him. With Villopoto in 1st and Hill closely in 2nd, there was a battle for 3rd between Millsaps and Windham. Millsaps and Windham going at it for many laps, but when the 7th lap came around, it was then a battle for 2nd. Millsaps and Windham caught up to Hill and the battle was on...but by then, Villopoto was nowhere to be found. Lap 8 came up and still in the lead was Villopoto fallowed by; Hill in 2nd, Windham made his move on Millsaps, which put him in 3rd and Millsaps in 4th and Dungey finally in the picture in 5th. By lap 9 Dungey and Millsaps were fighting it out for 4th...at the end of lap 9, Dungey made the pass on the inside right before the finish corner. Dungey was slowly making his way up the list. By lap 10 it was Windham and Dungey battling for 3rd. But on lap 12, Dungey about to make another move, spins out in the slippery corner, and Windham gets away and Millsaps passes Dungey, putting him in back in 5th. But it didn't take long for Dungey to get back and take 4th away from Millsaps with 6 laps left to go. 2 laps and Villopoto was flying away with the lead ahead of; Hill in 2nd, Windham in 3rd, Dungey in 4th, and Millsaps in 5ht. And that's how they finished out the race...Ryan Villopoto took the win, followed by, Josh Hill in 2nd, Kevin Windham in 3rd, Ryan Dungey in 4th, and Davi Millsaps trailing in 5th. Nick Wey finished 10th, Ivan Tedesco finished 11th, and cancer survivor, Grant Langston finished 13th.
But on the points board, Hill caught up with Dungey, tied at 123, fallowed by; Villopoto -3, Millsaps -25, Brayton -36, Tedesco -36, Windham -37, Short -54, Wey -62, and Hahn -67.
That was Anaheim 3 and they head off to Indianapolis, IN for round 7...
